Nix, Goddess of the Night

Not a lot of people know about Nix. Although the major gods & goddesses chose celestial objects like the sun & moon as their symbols, Greek myth also tells of minor gods & goddesses who did simple stuff to keep the heavens working.

Nix was the goddess who made the sky dark and the stars come out after Helios, god of the sun, and finished driving his shining bright chariot across the sky for the day.

This creation is one of my favorites from the Goddess folder. The gold leaves were perfect in resembling tiny comets on her skirt, & how the pearls on her dress look like stars in the night sky. (It's a pity it didn't get many votes on Doll Divine).

It might interest the more scientific among you that the planet Pluto was discovered recently to have 2 tiny moonlets orbiting it, named Hydra & Nix.
