Miss Greece

I was really looking forward to including Greece in this series. The model's look was inspired by Toula from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," (1 of my fave romantic comedies ). Most modern Greeks resemble the young lady above, w/ olivine skin, dark eyes, & dark brown hair, though I've heard that there's a recessive trait in the Greek genetic makeup that sometimes causes some of their kids to be born blond, though they're more likely found in the northern part of the country. (It's a theory put forth by historians who think Helen of Troy was a real person, & possibly a blond).

It's pretty common for Americans to immediately think of ancient Greece when they think of the country, rather than the more modern one. Believe me, Greece has changed A LOT in the past 2,000 years, lol. Nowadays it's a major tourist spot in the Mediterranean, due to it's beautiful beaches, the sparkling Aegean Sea to the east, the many islands, & the ancient ruins. People sometimes even go to Greece for their honeymoon.

I loved the colors in the flag, so this time around I had some fun w/ the sari's design. The golden background is meant to represent the bright sun in Greece.
