Heroines of Doom

Description

I made this collage using the new "Princess of Doom" dress-up game on Doll Divine: www.dolldivine.com/twisted-pri… . The game was inspired by the "Twisted Princess" painting series, which you can find on our very own :devart:. All you have to do is type in "twisted princess" into the search box & you should come up w/ several, very creepy, very messed-up paintings of our beloved Disney Princesses & Heroines.

I better list who's who here. Some of you might not be able to recognize them, due to how limited this game was.

Row 1: Alice, Princess Ariel, Princess Aurora (x2), Belle, Cinderella

Row 2: Esmeralda, Giselle (Enchanted), Jane (Tarzan), Princess Jasmine, Princess Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire), Megara

Row 3: Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White, Tiana, Tinkerbell, Wendy

Normally, I avoid such creepy artwork like the plague. Last thing I want is to see anything as innocent as our fave heroines made to look evil. But there was something strangely alluring about this game, & I just went to town on it :giggle:. I recognized quite a few of the costume pieces & hairstyles, though I was annoyed that the game is as limited as it is diverse with doll-making.

Even in the original "Twisted Princess" series, Ariel had a tail, & yet there were no mermaid tails available. So I put her in a dress that resembled the sparkly one she wore at the end of the movie, when King Triton turned her into a human. I couldn't decide which Aurora to put in, blue or pink, so I put in both. Another difficulty was figuring out what kind of injuries or blood/dirt spatter to put on the girls, b/c each one had to be different, or at least I tried to make them different. It also took me a while to figure out which costume pieces were designed for Mulan, b/c her dress had SOOOO many pieces in the game. I didn't even find out until recently who the tongue was for :puke:. It's based on the twisted version of Tiana (who looks NOTHING like the original girl), where some of the frog was still left in her.

The hardest heroines to include were the ones the game WASN'T designed for. Like Alice, Esmeralda, Giselle, Jane, Kida, Megara, and Wendy. I had to improvise a lot, like giving Giselle dark blond hair b/c the game only had bright red & dark blond hair; no strawberry blond. She and Jane (from "Tarzan") are in the 2nd row, between Esmeralda & Jasmine. Kida actually turned out great, even though the costume's not quite accurate. You can at least figure out which character she is. Tinkerbell was relatively easy b/c the hair & part of Tiana's dress worked very well for her. Megara was kind of a last-minute addition. I had to figure out who would be able to wear that wrap around the waist. A lot of ppl would not be surprised by Alice, considering there's a subculture out there that loves that sick PC game from the 90s about the insane Alice in Wonderland with the bloody apron & axes. I'm not particularly fond of either Alice Liddell or the Alice from the '50s Disney cartoon, but I included her anyway.

Haha, as soon as you mentioned the sick Alice game, I instantly thought of American McGee`s Alice and its sequel, Alice: Madness Returns :D which is kind of not surprising as well, seeing as I`m their fan as well x3
But really, you did an AWESOME job on all those renditions, both canon and ones the game isn`t designed for. They just look so~ twisted~ :evillaugh: (and yes, I totally quoted Jasmine there xD).
