Sarah's Labyrinth Dream Gown

Description

I saw someone else's work online that used the Rococo Costume Creator www.dolldivine.com/rococo-cost… to imitate Sarah's dream gown from The Labyrinth, so I decided to make one too.  It is a very beautiful costume, even if the style totally screams 80s Victorian retro.  The dress here isn't entirely accurate to the costume, but you can definitely see the similarities between them.  I have her holding a candelabra because that was something I distinctly remembered from the ballroom.  There were tons of candelabra all over the place that had wax dripped into great stalactites down to the floor, as if the ball had been going on for weeks instead of hours.

From what most costume fans figure out from studying screen-caps from the movie, they've been able to deduce that Sarah's gown is a very pale lavender with iridescent, transparent fabric on the outer layer.  It was very hard to tell, considering the various promo photos of the actress & all the different light angles.  In some pictures the dress looks pink, others it looks white, some it looks pale blue, & some it even looks ivory, and in a few it's pale lavender.  And that hair was something else :giggle:.  Thank goodness for wigs, right?
