I wasn't expecting this dress to get so much attention, though despite being such a radical color for a brunette (much less a redhead), it's a popular costume to make a fuss over.
One reason I hadn't dared attempt it until recently was b/c of that crazy headdress. It's such an odd shape, & there were few pictures of the princess w/ her head at the same angle as the doll. From some angles the headdress is round, others it's crown-like, & from some angles it just looks like an over-sized headband. I finally found some reasonable pictures from Sarah Bolger's site, & even then I had to re-do the headdress twice. It has a very Russian look about it.
Princess Mary wears this costume when her half-brother, Prince Edward VI was born, & 1 time when she's talking with Anne of Cleves. The outfit came w/ a shawl, tho the scene-maker didn't have 1, so I based the picture on an interview photo someone had posted of the actress. The lace is interesting, though I didn't like the sheer yellow sleeves. The costume does seem to emphasize new beginnings & peace in the family, since the girl's obsessive father finally got the son he wanted so badly. I also saw pictures of the Princess presiding over little Edward's baptism & Christening in this same costume.
The outfit has gotten 2 Crowns for Pretty, & 2 for Accurate on Doll-Divine.

I love the gown and how it really brings out her features, like her hair, eyes. It gives her a glow or brightness. In the show does it seem like she has the red hair and blue eyes that she's been described? I like her actress but she has me kind of puzzle if she is properly portraying her appearance wise. But I love her dresses, they look light and give easy movement.
