Description
South Korea was a fun country to work w/ in the Sari-Maker game . Their flag reminds me a little of Japan's, but there's also a unique, mystical quality to it. Like the red & blue yin-yang (which the Koreans call "um-yang"), & the 4 sets of blk lines are called "trigrams," which are better explained in this article [link] I remember reading about these lines in the "Handy Religion Answer Guide." They represent directions, the 5 elements, and parts of the land, such as mountains or rivers.
A few yrs ago my family helped w/ an exchange student program at our church, which helped college students from other countries. We got to open our home to 2 Korean girls, & they got to stay in the little apt. we'd set up in the basement until we could help them move into the dorms at the university in town.
They were wonderful house guests . They were shy at first, but later they opened up & were very kind & helpful. (It helped a lot that they'd been to the US before & had already learned English, lol). 1 of them actually fell in luv w/ a guy in our town, so I guess now she's married & living in the US w/ him. I think the other 1 went back to Korea when she graduated.
