Cupid and Psyche

Rinmaru came out with a new game called the Fantasy Couple Creator www.rinmarugames.com/game/?gam… and I've been having a lot of fun with it .  Since it was Valentine's Day, I made this memorable couple from Greek Mythology.  Cupid was called "Eros" in ancient Greece, and his name means "love."  It's the ancient Romans who called him "Cupid."  Psyche was a mortal princess he fell in love with, but his mother, Aphrodite (Venus) was jealous of her, and that's where the conflict started.  You can read more about the myth from various sites online.  It's a great story

I usually try making Psyche look like an actual Greek girl, with olivine skin, dark hair, and dark eyes, though in this picture I wanted to do something unique and give her topaz/amber eyes.  It's a rare eye color, though I'm certain it's not unheard of among Greeks.  Even among northern Europeans (and their American cousins) it's rare.  I've only met like, one person in my entire life who has eyes like that.

Eros didn't quite turn out the way I'd hoped, though he looks enough like the character you can guess who he is.
