Christian Angel vs. Islamic Angel

Description

I used Azalea's awesome new Epic Angel Game: www.azaleasdolls.com/dressupga… to make this.

We've all heard of angels before, but it turns out, Christianity isn't the only religion that believes in angels.  Muslims (as well as other faiths) believe in them too.  It's actually eerily similar how both Christians and Muslims view angels.  Both see them as messengers of God or Allah, and they are celestial beings who work for God or Allah as well.  Other than that, I don't know much about Islamic angels.

I probably got it wrong with the Islamic angel, considering I'm not a Muslim myself.  A professor in Islamic Studies or an actual Muslim would definitely know more.  I had to look up ancient artwork done on them.  They are surprisingly colorful.  Many are shown with colorful robes and crowns on, and a few have halos on their heads like Christian angels do.  Their wings are especially colorful.  In fact, I had some difficulty with the wings because there are only two colors available, as opposed to the three they would show in the paintings.  Also, most of the angels in Islamic art are shown as male, though I did find a few female ones.  I simply made the doll look like a woman you would commonly find in the Middle East.  Two of the most common colors I saw in the old artwork were red/orange, green, gold, and blue, so I went with the orangey-red and green theme.  They don't have caftans in the game, so I had to work with what it had.

The Christian angel is based on what most people think of when it comes to angels, though from what I've seen in more modern artwork, they can be any ethic group, not just blond and blue-eyed like in European Renaissance art.  They are described as creatures of light, whose beauty is often almost too much for a human mind to bear, and is as terrifying as it is mesmerizing.  Quite often angels have had to take on a form a human mind can handle better, such as the beautiful robed people everyone imagines.  I've even read of several types of angels; such as Seraphim, with six wings, or Cherubim, warrior angels such as Michael, the Head Angel Gabriel, Azrael, the Angel of Death, St. Peter who guards the entrance to Heaven, and invisible Guardian Angels that watch out for each and every one of God's children.

The drawing is lovely its just that its not accurate and a bit disrespectful to Muslims because we can't depict religious figures [angels, prophets, Allah, etc.] because we don't know what they look like and as they are ''infallible' and revered figures. Sorry x😅
